I know we are all getting older, but this fact somehow keeps surprising me.

I know we are all getting older, but this fact somehow keeps surprising me.

Today I was reminded when I became startled to learn that it was the 65th birthday of former Leaf star Darryl Sittler.

I have managed to come to grips that some of my heroes are no longer younger – guys like Dick Duff, the Big M and Johnny Bower.

But Sittler was one of the young guys – he came up in the 1970’s era.

Here is a great profile by Howard Berger.

Hard to believe that some many years have gone by.

By the way, it is also the birthday of Scotty Bowman. I remember when he was the youngest coach around. Today he turns 82.

And, Ralph Backstrom today turns 78.

Yesterday, the late Claude Provost would have turned 82.

Happy Birthday to all. Where did the time go ?

BTW, while looking back the great Dave Stubbs shared with us a newspaper clip of what training camp was like for the Canadiens 50 years ago.
