German-Americans are the largest self-reported ancestral group in the United States. So, it should not surprise that there are hundreds of large and small Oktoberfest celebrations held annually throughout the country.
The largest is to be found at the Oktoberfest Zinzinnati in Cincinnati. In fact, it is the third largest Oktoberfest in the world after Munich and one in Brazil.
Another area known for its German immigrant population is Pennsylvania. There many communities, especially where the historic Pennsylvania Dutch(Pennsylvania Deutsch) population are to be found celebrate Oktoberfest.
Other major celebrations across the United States include those at: Cullman, Alabama; Nashville (since 1925); Campbell, California, Torrance, California; Newark, Delaware, Helen, Georgia; Rosemont, Illinois; Frankenmuth, Michigan; New Ulm, Minnesota; Hermann, Missouri; New Braunfels, Texas (Wursfest); Leavenworth, Washington and Milwaukee.
