The first Oktoberfest dates back to 1810 in Munich. It was a celebration of the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig to Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. These days Munich’s Oktoberfest is considered the world’s largest fair, attracting six million people.
In Canada , Kitchener, Ontario is host to the best-known Oktoberfest (the second largest in the world). But there interesting festivals to be found in smaller and surprising locations the country as well. Places such as Regina, Tatamagouche, NS, Vankleek Hill, ON, and Penticton, BC as well as Toronto. All worth your attention.
