Singer Peggy Lee was born on May 26, 1920 in Jamestown, ND. Born as Norma Douglas Egstrom she got her start at a North Dakota radio station, and got her chance to make it big through the Benny Goodman Orchestra. She was banner carrier for the American Popular Tune, but is probably best known for her performance in Disney’s Lady and the Tramp. She died on January 21, 2002.
