It’s going to be cold, real cold. But that will not stop folks from near and not so near from converging on Port Dover, Ontario because it is Friday, the 13th.
You see, any time it is Friday the 13th, there is a motorcycle rally in Port Dover. It is a tradition that dates back to 1981.
Its typical summer attendance exceeds 100,000 bikers.
This Friday the 13th is expected to be one of the chilliest rallies of all time. According to The Weather Network, the daytime high is -14°C with a low of -21°C. Anywhere from 1-3 centimetres of snow will fall and wind gusts will total around 15km/h from the south west.
“It’ll be a busier than a normal Friday,” said Adam Veri of the Port Dover Board of Trade to the Simcoe Reformer. “We expect there will be some people – obviously the crowds won’t be as big (as summer months) – the roads won’t be closed or anything like that – but we are going to have Porta-potties out there for people and there are some vendors that are booked.”Share
